Our 2004 Orchid Displays.....  

At the Heart of Dixie Show, Huntsville, Alabama, April 3 & 4, 2004, our 25 sq ft display won blue ribbon and trophy for best display in open competition. In addition we won trophy for best Oncidium type orchid for Wilsonara Kolibri and trophy for best Cattleya for Slc. Seagull's Mini-Catt Heaven 'Mary Ann'. This same plant went on to win an 82 point Award of Merit with 20 flowers and 6 buds. Of the 23 plants in the display, nine won first place blue ribbons, five second place ribbons, and four third place ribbons.
In May 2004, we traveled to Memphis, Tennessee for the Memphis Orchid Society Show at the botanical gardens. We put in a 25 sq.ft. display that won four trophies, eleven blue ribbons, and one quality award. We won trophies on Dtps. Pico Lady Ruby 'Ed Merkle', Vuylsteakara Cambria 'Plush', Gongora Parakeet, and Vanda cristata. Our Gongora Parakeet 'Maplewood' garnered an 83 point Award of Merit with over 250 flowers.

September 17th through 19th, 2004, the Orchid Society of Middle Tennessee hosted the Mid-America Orchid Congress and Show at the Hilton Suites Hotel in downtown Nashville. We put in a 25 sq. ft display that won many trophies, ribbons, and awards. Seventeen blue ribbons were given to our plants. Our Psychopsis papilio with eleven flowers won the 1st Annual Clifford Walters Trophy for Outanding Oncidium Orchid. Other show trophies were won by Rumrillara Sugar Baby, and Dtps. Pico Lady Ruby 'Ed Merkle' Am/Aos. Our Rumrillara Sugar Baby 'Maplewood' garnered an Award of Merit, and Gongora galeottiana 'Merkle's Orchids' garnerd a Certificate of Horticultural Merit from the American Orchid Society judges.
September 25th and 26th we were in Birmingham, Alabama for the Alabama Orchid Society Show on the grounds of the botanical gardens. We put in a 25 sq. ft "tabletop" display which won a total of four trophies, ten blue ribbons, and one quality award. Trophies were won by our Aerangis biloba, Ascocenda Dong Tarn, Catasetum Orchidglade, and Epilaeliocattleya Volcano Trick. The Eplc. Vocano Trick 'Maplewood' also garnered an Award of Merit from the American Orchid Society.
Our 2003 Orchid Displays....  

Our 50 sq ft display at the Orchid Society of Middle Tennessee show in Nashville, March 2003, won blue ribbon for 50 square foot display, as well as many ribbons on plants including 18 blue ribbons.
We traveled to Huntsville, Alabama for the Heart of Dixie Orchid Society show, March 2003, and helped put in our Nashville society's 25 sq.ft. display. The display won trophy for best orchid society display, and also the predigious Orchid Digest Corp. "Best of Show" trophy. Our plants comprised all but five of the display's plants.

Our 25 sq ft display at the Smokey Mountain Orchid Society show, Knoxville, Tennessee, in April 2003, won trophy for best display in open competition. Our Doritaenopsis Tennessee Cardinal also garnered an Award of Merit from the American Orchid Society judges.

 

Our display at the Memphis Orchid Society Show in May 2003, won blue ribbon for 25 sq.ft. display. Many of our plants won blue ribbons and our Epicattleya Fred Fuchs Jr. won trophy for best Cattleya. In addition, several of our plants were pulled for AOS judging, including Catasetum Sunsan Fuchs 'Sunrise' which won a JC/AOS.
